Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 13th May 2026

Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 13th May 2026

Mid may rolls through with a strong delivery of house and electronic music, and I've saved you the faff of scrolling through endless records to bring you the cream of the crop for this week's releases and pre-orders.

From the twisted, euphoric, Euro-synth sizzlers on Apiento & Teppers debut release on Test Pressing's new imprint, 'Test Pressing Tracks', to reissues of coveted progressive house classics such as Jeigo's 'An Ode To Midnight', it feels like we're witnessing vinyl history unfold as labels expand into new territory and unreachable tracks become yet again attainable thanks to the demand for re-runs at the pressing plant. House music on wax is alive in 2026.

I've also brought in some of your old favourites. Labels such as Gems have been popular with their reissue of 'Eagle's Prey - Tonto's Drum', so I've been digging deep into the archives and selected their reissue of a couple of classic tech house cuts from 'Space Bunny' and 'The Minger's', which came out last year.

Dig in, enjoy, and turn it up.

Apiento & Tepper - The Yellow Place / Le Tour

Test Pressing Tracks launches with its inaugural release ‘The Yellow Place / Le Tour’ by Apiento & Tepper.

What better way to introduce a new label than with three authentic, wigged-out electronic house tracks with a distinctly electronic European feel. ‘The Yellow Place’ is a driving, electronic stomper reminiscent of early Chicago house and European-feeling electronic progressive disco. MC Kinky graces the A1, whilst we’re given the instrumental for A2.

On the B side, ‘Le Tour’ is the highlight of this record, with it’s early 808 state/ A Guy Called Gerald-sounding synth programming and shimmering riffs. Turn this one up loud to get the whole club ready for the night ahead.

Jeigo - An Ode To Midnight

This repress from label Air Miles has been due since Jeigo’s original pressing was released in 2018. In high demand - and we can hear why - this sublime slab of dreamy, progressive, deep house has just the right balance of delicacy and bass weight to turn a club upside down into eyes-closed ecstasy.

‘An Ode to Midnight’ is pure raver’s bliss: slick sharp breaks, sub bass warmth, and reverb-drenched female vocals. ‘Wing Systems’ continues the flight journey with textures of synth stabs and agitated percussion. ‘Lime Hawk’ feels like a ride to the centre of the universe on a sunny day, and closer ‘By My Side’ raises the attitude with crunchy breakbeats and sharp vocal chops.

A must have for fans of breakbeat, progressive house, and rave flavours.

Santamaria Bros - We Got Latin Soul

Sosilly Edits can do no wrong as they take their usual, playful disco edit sound into new territory with this flavourful EP.

Four ‘SB edits’ from the Santamaria Bros lean into trumpet-led funk with ‘Young, Gifted & Brown’, Sax-soaked percussive jams in ‘Psychedelic Pucho’, Acid house disco in ‘Acid Soul’, and Gil-Scott Heron-esque conscious soul in ‘Together’.

The Cool-Notes - I Forgot How To Love You

Celestial Echo know how to dig out a long-forgotten or underground classic, and ‘I Forgot How to Love You’ is no exception.

Charming, low-key vocals over a funk driven slap-bass with running synth lines puts this cut right in the heart of joyous, coveted boogie. The backing vocals feel almost naive and sweet, crystallising youth culture and a DIY disco feel that so may of those UK Britfunk records had.

‘Why Can’t We Be Friends’ slows the tempo to an almost street soul cadence, again feeling equal parts barebones production-wise yet uplifting, big, and joyous.

Atjazz / Fred Everything - 8 Days

This project from Atjazz & Fred Everthing took 8 days to start, 3 years to finish, and 30 years to perfect.

The project took shape during an 8-day stay at Martin’s (Atjazz) home in the Midlands of England, where they set themselves the challenge of writing one track per day. It’s amazing to think that in just over a week - the bones of this album was created.

The result is 8 tracks of deep, luscious, dubbed-out, and sometimes Afro-tinged house. A key release for both home listening and the deep house DJ’s record bag.

Space Bunny / Fancy a Shag

Two essential early tribal tech house cuts here, reissued in style from Gems. More recent Gems records have been popular and there are more on the way, so for now, we’ve brought you one from last year. This series can’t go wrong.

The former is a pacy, peak time club track for sweating out the evening under low ceilings, whilst the latter is a perfect groove initiator for the early parts of the evening, with big, tribal beats and thick groovy bass lines.

The Spacebunny tracks were originally released on Surreal Recordings back in 1996, the original mix being licensed to Danny Tenaglia's Twisted Secrets (vol2). The Mingers ‘Fancy A Shag’ track was released in 2002 on Deeper London (a subsidiary of Surreal Recordings) with a limited press of only 200 copies.

Ultimate party essentials for the discerning house DJ!]

Lennie De Ice - We Are I.E. - Remixes

Bringing you back a reissue from a while back, because its simply too good not to. An absolute icon of a track in the UK rave, house, hardcore continuum: We Are I.E.

This proto-jungle, UK club track changed the game for breaks music and UK club culture as a whole, and now here it is again in it’s original form with 3 mega remixes from Solo & Blades, Horsepower Productions  & Borai.

This versatile DJ tool will take your house and techno sets up a notch and fit right in with a bass and breakbeat set too.

DJ Sneak - Bounce EP (Pre order)

DJ Sneak’s tracks are timeless, whether it’s one of his 90’s bangers or a more recent, tech-tinged house slammer, something about the way Sneak makes music just hits right in the world of house music.

This time, DJ Sneak is on Refuge Recordings with four, no-nonsense dance floor cuts for clubs, parties, and warehouses.

A highlight is titled track ‘Bounce’, that feels hip-hop tinged with the vocal, but is an entirely straightforward, deep, impactful house track. The rest of the EP ranges in tempo and energy but keep that signature Sneak attitude and house impact. Essential business!
