Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 26th May 2026

Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 26th May 2026

Tom2Trax here again, emerging from the extended bank holiday weekend where we collectively experienced the hot sunshine. Whilst I hope that the good weather sticks around long enough for this Summer's weekends, what is guaranteed as much as the Great British rain is our delivery of hot recommended electronic and dance vinyl every week.

From clubland re-edits to Balearic soothing rhythms, and from unearthed tech house gems to deep, East coast house classics re-launched - we've got it all.

Unknown - Énergie Hystérique (shipping from next week)

Two massive reworks of clubland classics here from the DMENJ crew. With huge early support from stalwarts Graeme Park, Tall Paul, Paul Oakenfold & Danny Rampling - it’s got the raving seal of approval.

iiO’s ‘Rapture’ gets a house edit with a feel-good French Touch feel, while on the flip it’s Hysteric Ego’s ‘Want Love’ that gets the treatment for 2026. Ultimate party material for DJs controlling the crowd at Summer parties.

BJ Smith / Sasha Foam - Summer Selections Six

Nunorthern Soul are back with another sun-soaked, etheral, Balearic offering. Six tracks here to ease the mind and wash away the troubles of the day. A standout includes ‘Curious’ by Sasha Foam - built around a gentle acid line, soft keys, and percussive chimes.

Outkast’s ‘Prototype’ cover by B.J. Smith gets a remix by Wreckin Havok, and everyone’s favourite peak-time cultural moment ‘Born Slippy’ gets a re-work by Visions of Light - transforming it into sunset-appropriate chill out experience.

With names like Bill Brewster, Danny Moodymanc, and Coyote backing it, it’s clear that it’s one for the vibes heads.

HMC - Acid Trac EP (shipping next week)

Acid Trac #1 & #3 were originally released in 1996 on the Dirty Acid Tracks imprint, and this release from Reflector kindly gifts us with a third bonus track, ‘Cum On’, which was originally the b-side to Phreakin’ back in 1995.

This one’s for lovers of stripped-back, acid house and dancefloor tools. Personally, even though you can’t deny the power of those Acid Trac cuts, it’s ‘Cum On’ that’s the real price for me, with its combination of wet acid lines, energising vocal sample, and giant reverberated warehouse kick drum. A real powerhouse of a record!

Dennis Ferrer / Mood II Swing / Studio Apartment / Blaze - King Street Sounds Sampler Vol. 6

The King Street Sounds Samplers are quickly becoming staples of our stock list. Ultra-reliable, ultra deep, and ultra soulful - these records do exactly what you want them to in a crowd situation: set the tone deep and hit you right in the soul.

A1 ‘Touch There Sky’ is a vocal house track with a difference: it’s led by interesting percussion, layered enigmatic vocals, and a focused, locked-in atmosphere.

Moon ll Swing feat. Carole Sylvan pick up the pace in ‘Closer’ with a well-known vocal sample carrying a trumpet-led melody over a thick, rhythmic beat.

On the flip side Studio Apartment’s ‘Flight (Nullife Vocal Mix’ takes things on a jazzy excursion featuring Monique Bingham, whilst, Blaze & Palmer Brown’s ‘Shine (Shelter Club Mix)’  brings that unmistakable Blaze gospel energy to a soulful, piano-rich house track.

FAM Disco - Blaxploitation

There are disco heads, and then there are disco heads. The former like a bit of Salsoul, spin a few re-edits and vibe with the origins of house music in a fairly universally acknowledged way. The latter take the disco obsession to a whole new level, needing to get to the roots of the sound, hoarding old soul and proto-soul 7’s, scouring old 1970’s film soundtracks for that hidden gem or splice-able break. ‘Blaxploitation’ by FAM Disco is for that second group of Disco obsessives.

A true homage to those Blaxploitation films, where soulful, wigged-out disco took centre stage, this double LP by Paolo Fedreghini is a master class in the genre - just add your own car chase, badass protagonist, and storyline.

DJ Support: Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Dave Lee, Dj Spen & more.

Pre Orders

PROA Ft. Sandy Nuni - Incondicional

Test Pressing Tracks returns with a new one from Spanish mainstay PAU: a warm, late-night club record that sounds somewhere between the sensual depth of early Chicago house and the sun-drenched pulse of modern Balearic sounds.

Pau Roca and Orion Agassi link up for the first time, two respected names from the Spanish electronic scene joining forces on ‘Incondicional’. The original version features vocals from Sandy Nuni, delivering a deep, emotional house cut with a hypnotic groove and understated atmosphere, alongside an instrumental version.

On the flip, Tepper & Apiento take things deeper into dubbed-out territory with a heavy club remix built for late night dancefloors. Another strong outing from Test Pressing Tracks - this high demand sub label is just going to go from strength to strength.

Triple Five Sol - Sounds From The Pound Volume 1

San Francisco duo Vin Sol and Johnny Five bring us ‘Sounds From The Pound Vol.1’ EP.

Following on from their debut EP release on Dark Entries (2025), this record is raw, banging, and deep - one for the underground house heads that need that authentic, grainy, feel to their dance floor weapons.

Think early Nu Groove, mixed with Euro-organ house and slammin’ acid house. This EP is a weapon, do not miss!

Black Rascals featuring Roger Harris / Cassio Ware / Blaze / Alex & Rai - The Sound Of Slip 'n' Slide, Vol. 1

Slip ’n’ Slide are on a mission to reinvigorate their back catalogue - and we’re here for it. Just like the King Street Samplers that are now rearing their heads, Slip ’n’ Slide’s unearthing of classic tracks and new remixes is the ultimate package for deep, soulful house lovers.

On this edition, ‘Keeping My Mind; by Black Rascals brings the horn-led, funky soulful house, the Klubhead Mix of Cassio Ware’s Fantasy is low-slung, groove-driven and deep. A personal standout is the ultra deep, ultra retro-futurist ‘Moonwalk’ by Blaze. Rounding off the release is ‘For The Love of You’ by Alex & Rai on a jazzy tip. Do not miss.

Rave safe - Tom
