Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 15th July 2026

Tom2Trax Electronic & Dance - Record Picks 15th July 2026

The heatwave is relentless, it's locked us inside with the mega-fan 3000, downing pints of iced water and forgetting what it ever felt like to wear long trousers. Oh England, we wished for hot weather, and we sure got it!

So while many of us frantically Google the cost of an air con installation to see if it's a feasible long term investment, a small but in-the-know section of us hunker down, put up with the heat and scour the week's latest vinyl releases - because nothing beats the heat like some cool new wax, right?

Here are this week's latest electronic and dance picks, with some pre orders now on site.

HMC - Digits / Science Funktion

Two classic HMC tracks return to vinyl, taken from the 1992 Science Funktion and 1995 Southern Cross EPs. Showcasing the deeper side of HMC's sound, this reissue brings together two sought-after cuts in one essential package.

‘Digits’ is a heads-down, low-slung, dark basement technoid creeper, while ‘Science Funktion’ ups the funk with a sprinkling of conga top lines and soulful, wispy acid riffs.

Original copies are hard to come by for a reasonable price - so don’t delay

Franck Roger - Real Tone Classics Vol 5

Deep, soulful, vocal house. Real Tone Classics - a limited-edition vinyl release handpicked from the legendary archives of Real Tone Records.

Proper groove-based music for those nights you need to set the dance floor in blissful motion.

Pre orders:

Funky People / LZ Love / Kings Of Tomorrow / Blaze - The Sound Of Slip 'n' Slide, Vol. 2

Four more funky, electronic, carefully-curated tracks from the infamous Slip ’n’ Slide catalogue, fearing some remixes of classic tracks.

The Sound Of Slip ’n’ Slide Vol. 2 brings together another selection of timeless house and deep house classics from one of the genre's most respected labels. Featuring tracks and remixes from Masters At Work, Blaze, Kings Of Tomorrow, Booker T and Cassio Ware, it's packed with warm grooves and soulful club sounds.

Tried and tested funky tackle - do not sleep on this one DJs!

Comb Versions - Rip

When a classic track gets a rework, it’s always a nervy moment. Will it turn out great? Will it flop? Will I be able to enjoy the original again if either of the above happen? Well luckily Comb Versions don’t disappoint.

This pair of Rip it Up reworks don’t just do Orange Juice justice, they pay homage to the classic track in a fresh electronic boogie fashion. It’s got inklings of street soul, 80’s boogie, and balearic shimmering keys. This one will be popular.

Unknown - Blinded

Fans of The Streets look no further.

Digwah returns with another EP of groove-led tech house, combining carefully chosen samples with rolling drums and plenty of dance floor energy. Built for modern club sets, these tracks strike the perfect balance between underground grooves and peak-time impact.

A solid release for DJs looking for fresh, stripped-back house with plenty of drive.

Shak Jackson - Routes

Shak Jackson continues her rise with a strong three-track EP for Hooj. This record is reminiscent of early rave and breakbeat house. You can imagine sweating inside a warehouse somewhere off the M60, as the tracks blend old school house influences with a modern, groove-led sound.

Rolling 90’s basslines, piano hooks and stripped-back percussion, the tracks are designed for proper ‘hands in the air’ moments.

Dim City - Volume 1 (Juicy Boy)

M.A.D Records have done it again: a neatly packaged, dance floor-forward, nostalgic take on house music. All pressed onto black wax for our listening pleasure.

Dim City returns with another dose of quirky, groove-led house, blending deep rhythms, acid touches and jackin’ beats into a sound that's full of personality. In true M.A.D. fashion, these tracks keep things raw, playful and packed with character.
