Batov Records celebrates ten years with Around The Sun, a landmark 23-track compilation surveying a decade of adventurous independent music.
The collection brings together artists including Mulatu Astatke & Hoodna Orchestra, Sababa 5, Şatellites, Boom Pam, Bolbec, MOMO., Wax Machine, Mamman Sani and more, moving between Ethio-jazz, Anatolian psych, Mediterranean disco, contemporary jazz, Brazilian influence and global psychedelic groove.
Founded by DJ Kobayashi and Herbert Newbert, Batov grew from a small digital imprint into an internationally respected label whose catalogue connects underground club culture, border-crossing traditions and forward-looking musicianship.
Pressed on black vinyl across two LPs, Around The Sun captures both the label’s foundations and its continuing expansion.
