The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Magic Boy: Live at Berkeley, 1st Show

Magic Boy - Live at Berkeley, 1st Show presents The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s first performance at the Berkeley Community Theater in May 1970, assembling the concert in running order for the first time.

Parts of the Berkeley performance became familiar to listeners through early posthumous Hendrix releases, including Hear My Train A-Comin’ on Rainbow Bridge and Johnny B. Goode on Hendrix: In The West. The set also captures developing versions of Ezy Ryder and Freedom alongside Band Of Gypsys material such as Message to Love and Machine Gun.

Newly remixed by Eddie Kramer from the original multitrack tapes, the concert also features high-intensity performances of Experience favourites including Fire, Purple Haze and Voodoo Child (Slight Return).
