A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Fred Moss has spent a lifetime immersed in music — performing, teaching, and mentoring across decades. Athens of the North now presents the first official release of Moss's unreleased modern soul gems, originally recorded during his prolific session career.

'Stay Away' is a gospel-tinged modern soul floater of the highest order — emotionally rich and timeless. On the flip, 'Turn Your Love Around' brings a funky, syncopated groove that’ll move forward-thinking northern crowds. Both tracks have been newly mixed from the original multitracks at the Athens of the North studio, resulting in a record that holds its own against four-figure rarities.
