The Durutti Column – Short Stories For Pauline
Factory Benelux presents a limited 2026 180g black vinyl edition of Short Stories For Pauline, the long-shelved fourth album by Manchester post-punk pioneers The Durutti Column. Originally recorded by Vini Reilly in Brussels in December 1983, the album captures one of the group’s most intriguing lost chapters, featuring delicate guitar work, atmospheric instrumental passages and the understated emotional depth that made The Durutti Column such a singular presence within the Factory Records universe.
The 14-track set includes key pieces such as “College”, “A Room In Southport” and the beautiful “Duet”, recorded with Tuxedomoon viola player Blaine L. Reininger. Guest musicians also include drummer Alain Lefebvre, harpist Anne van den Troost and saxophonist Eric Sleichim. With just 500 non-returnable copies pressed, this archival vinyl edition is an essential release for Factory collectors, post-punk fans and followers of Vini Reilly’s quietly influential catalogue.
