SUNN O))) return with an eponymous album that marks their first full-length of new material since 2019 and their debut for Sub Pop. Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson continue to push the boundaries of heavy music, combining monumental low-end guitar with an avant-garde sense of space, texture and duration.

The album was recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington with Brad Wood. The surrounding landscape became part of the atmosphere of the sessions, and the music balances howling feedback and glacial guitar weight with unexpectedly delicate details including field recordings and piano interludes.

This edition is a black vinyl repress of the 2026 album. Cover artwork uses paintings by Mark Rothko, while the liner notes are by writer Robert Macfarlane. Across six expansive tracks, the duo work without guest collaborators and focus on the intensity and openness of the core two-piece format.
