Shirley Lites – Heat You Up (Melt You Down)

Shirley Lites - Heat You Up (Melt You Down) is a blazing 1983 dancefloor cut that sits at the crossroads of disco, boogie, proto-electro and proto-house. Mixed by Nick Martinelli and David Todd, the track drives forward on drum machines, synths, dub effects and Lites' commanding soul vocal.

The flip-side Melt Down Mix pushes the production further into stripped, futuristic territory, pointing toward sounds that would later become central to house and techno. This first-time 12-inch reissue has been remastered by Simon Francis and restored in the original West End Records house sleeve.
