Rick Clarke - Time Keeps Moving On

Time Keeps Moving On is a reissue of Rick Clarke's hard-to-find 1988 album, an important UK soul record from the formative period of street soul. Originally released on Raven, it was Clarke's first LP after earlier work with Brit-funk groups Potion and Side On.

Clarke had also released solo material during the 1980s, including Love with a Stranger on producer John Collins' Local Records imprint and singles for RCA. Time Keeps Moving On developed that background into a full-length set rooted in British soul, funk and the emerging street-soul sound.

Much of the album was co-written and co-produced with Peter Hinds, associated with Take Three, Atmosfear and Light of the World, while Master T, aka Toyin Agbetu, also makes a guest appearance.

Freestyle Records brings the album back to vinyl as a snapshot of UK soul in 1988, when artists such as Loose Ends were finding international audiences and the scene that would produce Soul II Soul was beginning to take shape.
