Rachel Chinouriri - I think I spoke too soon
Rachel Chinouriri - I think I spoke too soon opens a bold new chapter for the acclaimed British singer-songwriter. Following the critical success of her 2024 debut What A Devastating Turn of Events, Chinouriri expands her sound with dancefloor-ready synth-pop while retaining the tenderness, melodic clarity and emotional honesty that first set her apart. The album arrives on 16 October 2026 and captures the tension between high-sheen glamour and the private uncertainty that can sit beneath it.
Written from the disorienting perspective of the early-to-mid twenties, the record is profoundly autobiographical. Chinouriri examines sobriety, femininity, identity and the pressure to become a version of yourself that other people can easily understand. Its central question is direct but far-reaching: if she continues down the path in front of her, will she like the person she becomes? That friction gives the music its emotional charge, pairing bright production and physical rhythm with lyrics shaped by self-doubt, reflection and the desire for control.
The project follows a period of major recognition for Chinouriri, including two BRIT Award nominations and the 2026 Silver Clef Best New Artist award. Rather than repeating the sound of her debut, she uses that momentum to push into a more expansive pop landscape. Synthesizers and dancefloor energy bring a new sense of scale, but the songs remain grounded in the intimate indie sensibility that has defined her strongest work.
This vinyl release is manufactured as an EcoRecord using injection-moulding technology and approximately nine recycled plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste. The process can reduce carbon emissions during manufacture by up to 85% compared with traditional vinyl production. Each 140g record is housed in a single sleeve with a printed inner bag.
The album is available as one Shopify product with two vinyl variants: an all-retail Black EcoRecord and an RSD Stores & HMV Exclusive Translucent Blue EcoRecord.
