Queens of the Stone Age - Perfecth

Queens of the Stone Age return with Perfecth, their ninth studio album and a characteristically bold new chapter for one of modern rock’s most distinctive bands. Due on 30 October 2026 through Matador, the record finds Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore pushing the group’s sound into another set of strange, seductive and sharply drawn new forms.

The idea behind Perfecth is closely tied to kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery in a way that makes the fracture part of the object’s beauty. That theme runs through an album concerned with love in many forms: family, friendship, desire, damage, survival and repair. The title itself deliberately breaks the word “perfect”, reflecting Homme’s view that perfection does not truly exist.

Recorded across sessions in locations including New Orleans and Los Angeles, the nine-song album moves between menacing, moody, gentle and surreal territory. Homme describes each track as sounding as though it comes from a different world, while the full record is held together by recurring ideas of love, lust, foolishness and the wisdom that can emerge from them.
