Mousse T. - House Masters sees Defected and Peppermint Jam dedicate an instalment of the long-running House Masters series to the Grammy-nominated German producer, DJ and remixer. Spread across three LPs and six sides of vinyl, the collection surveys more than two decades of Mousse T.’s work behind the mixing desk, highlighting the breadth of a style that has moved between disco-inflected house, breakbeat, funk, vocal club music and polished dancefloor production.

The selection brings together Mousse T. treatments of major house and pop records alongside his own productions. Dennis Ferrer’s Hey Hey, Martin Solveig’s I’m A Good Man, Moloko’s Sing It Back, Shakedown’s At Night and CamelPhat & Elderbrook’s Cola all appear in distinctive Mousse T. versions, alongside work involving Horse Meat Disco, The Vision, S.A.M., Spiller & Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Amira. Heard together, the tracks demonstrate how readily he can move from tight disco grooves to heavier funk, piano house and more broken rhythmic approaches.

This vinyl edition is particularly notable for its exclusive material. It includes four brand-new “Shizzle” and “Re-Rub” productions created for the compilation, as well as a remix that has not previously been released on vinyl.
