Mother Earth's Plantasia is Mort Garson’s beloved Moog-based cult classic, originally created as warm earth music for plants and the people who love them. Over time the record grew from an unusual artefact of 1970s plant culture into one of the most celebrated examples of early electronic music.
For its 50th anniversary, Sacred Bones presents an authorised eco-conscious edition pressed on 100% recycled eco-green vinyl, with packaging made from recycled materials. The release includes a full reproduction of the original Mother Earth’s indoor plant care booklet and a plantable download card printed on seed paper.
Across ten pieces, Garson turns the synthesizer toward playful botanical themes, from Plantasia and Symphony for a Spider Plant to Rhapsody In Green and Music To Soothe The Savage Snake Plant. The result remains whimsical, melodic and unmistakably ahead of its time.
