Mogwai – Mogwai Young Team (Red Vinyl)

Mogwai’s groundbreaking debut album Mogwai Young Team is repressed on red coloured vinyl by Chemikal Underground. Originally released in October 1997, the album established the Glasgow group’s expansive approach to dynamics, texture and instrumental rock and became a defining release in their catalogue.

The record was made with engineer Paul Savage at the space that would soon become Chemikal Underground’s Chem19 studios. Savage, also known for later production work with artists including Franz Ferdinand and The Twilight Sad, remastered the album in 2022. The ten-track set includes ‘Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home’, ‘Like Herod’, ‘Tracy’, ‘R U Still In 2 It’ and the monumental ‘Mogwai Fear Satan’.

This 2026 pressing refreshes the album as a red 2LP edition, following the sky-blue vinyl used for the 2023 reissue. It comes housed in a gatefold sleeve with the original artwork and includes a digital download code, providing a distinctive new coloured-vinyl edition of Mogwai’s debut.
