Mogwai – Come On Die Young (Grey Vinyl)

Mogwai’s iconic second album Come On Die Young returns on fresh grey coloured vinyl. Originally released in March 1999, the record followed the explosive impact of the band’s debut with a darker, more restrained and elegiac approach, developing the dynamics and atmosphere that became central to Mogwai’s sound.

The album’s artwork references The Exorcist, while its title was taken from a well-known Glasgow gang slogan. Despite those confrontational references, the music often moves with patience and control rather than outright assault, creating a brooding response to the pre-millennial intensity surrounding the band at the time. Tracks including ‘Cody’, ‘Ex-Cowboy’ and ‘Christmas Steps’ sit within a twelve-track sequence that remains a key part of Mogwai’s catalogue.

This 2026 Chemikal Underground edition is pressed as a grey 2LP, following the white-vinyl 2023 reissue. It is housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring the original artwork and includes a digital download code, presenting the complete album in a newly refreshed coloured-vinyl edition.
