Michael Kiwanuka - FUDGE

FUDGE is Michael Kiwanuka’s most free-flowing and instinctive album to date, built around spontaneity, emotion and the pleasure of following an idea wherever it leads. The record is described as loose, soulful and deliberately alive, with Kiwanuka embracing a less self-conscious creative process and allowing feel, groove and intuition to shape the finished music.

A key inspiration came from words by the late Chick Corea that Kiwanuka encountered during the pandemic: an encouragement to focus on the music and ideas he genuinely loved without being distracted by outside expectations. That approach feeds directly into the album’s sense of freedom and warmth.

The physical edition is paired with vivid artwork by Kiwanuka’s friend and visual collaborator Stevie Gee, whose psychedelic, cartoon-inspired imagery reflects the colour and character of the music. This 2LP release is available on standard black vinyl and as a Mint Green international exclusive edition.
