Man/Woman/Chainsaw – Cannonball

Man/Woman/Chainsaw – Cannonball is the highly anticipated debut album from the London six-piece, available here in two vinyl editions: an HMV/independent-retail Berry vinyl pressing and an EcoMix vinyl version. Both editions pair the band’s ambitious songwriting with carefully considered physical presentation.

Produced by Margo Broom, known for work with Fat White Family and Big Joanie, alongside Seth Evans of Geordie Greep and Black Midi connections, Cannonball captures a group determined to make a debut that feels expansive rather than tentative. The album includes the singles “Only Girl” and “Nosedive” and moves through unconventional structures, sharp dynamic changes and memorable choruses without losing the direct energy built through years of live performance.

Formed by close friends Billy Ward and Vera Leppänen when they were only sixteen, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have developed into a six-piece whose music resists easy categorisation. The band’s approach combines alternative rock urgency with orchestral colour, rhythmic tension and an instinct for sudden, dramatic shifts. Rolling Stone described them at SXSW as a young band in the process of inventing something ecstatically new, while support from The Quietus, The Guardian, NME, DIY, Stereogum and BBC 6 Music has helped establish them as one of the most closely watched new UK acts.

The Berry 140g edition is available to independent retailers and features a die-cut sleeve with printed inner. The EcoMix 180g edition also includes a printed inner sleeve, offering a second physical option under the same shared Shopify product.

With eleven tracks including “Goddamn, Lizard Man!”, “Get Up And Dance”, “Flick Of The Wrist” and “Something Else To Give”, Cannonball presents the band exactly where they are now: adventurous, tightly connected and ready to move from cult live favourite to a defining new voice in British alternative music.
