Scottish trumpeter and Haggis Horns co-founder Malcolm Strachan returns with Look On The Bright Side, his most uplifting and groove-driven solo album to date. Moving effortlessly between soul-jazz, Latin grooves and Afrobeat touches, the record is anchored by the warm, cinematic feel of classic 1970s jazz while carrying a clear sense of forward momentum.

Following the Blue Note-inspired sound of About Time and the CTI-flavoured grooves of Point Of No Return, Strachan’s third solo album feels broader, brighter and more open. Featuring tracks such as “Quest For Love”, “Leave It All Behind” and “The Eclipse”, the album brings together long-time collaborators alongside guest percussionist Steve Forman, whose credits include Lee Ritenour, Al Jarreau, Jimmy Smith, Sarah Vaughan and George Duke.
