Low - Trust returns to vinyl in this 2026 double-LP repress through Kranky. The album captures Low in an assertive and expansive form, extending the trio’s slow-moving, atmospheric language through richer production, broader arrangements and a sequence of thirteen songs that balance intimacy with a growing sense of scale.

Recorded in Minneapolis with Tom Herbers and mixed in London by Tchad Blake, Trust places Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker’s voices at the centre of a detailed but never overcrowded sound. The opening “(That’s How You Sing) Amazing Grace” unfolds over more than seven minutes, establishing the album’s patient, devotional mood. “Canada” then introduces a sharper pulse, while “Candy Girl” and “Time Is the Diamond” move between delicate melody and controlled tension.

The album’s expanded palette includes guest vocals from Gerry Beckley of America and banjo from Marc Gartman. These additions support rather than distract from Low’s core chemistry. “Tonight” and “The Lamb” emphasise the band’s gift for sustained emotional pressure, while “In the Drugs” and “Last Snowstorm of the Year” show how concise songs can sit naturally beside the record’s longer, more immersive pieces.

“John Prine” is one of the album’s most substantial performances, allowing its arrangement to develop with unhurried confidence. The closing run—from “Little Argument with Myself” through “La La La Song”, “Point of Disgust” and “Shots & Ladders”—brings together the album’s contrasting qualities: warmth and unease, restraint and force, simplicity and intricate texture.

Trust is a strong example of Low refusing to remain confined by the expectations attached to slowcore. The pace may be deliberate, but the music is expansive, dynamic and carefully shaped.
