Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes - Visions Of A New World

Visions Of A New World is one of Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes’ defining Flying Dutchman albums, blending spiritual jazz, deep soul and cosmic jazz-funk with the group’s trademark sense of space and atmosphere.

This reissue returns the album to the Flying Dutchman catalogue as part of Ace’s wider programme celebrating Lonnie Liston Smith’s work for the label. Highlights include “A Chance For Peace” and “Colors Of The Rainbow”, the latter featuring vocals from Donald Smith, alongside the two-part title track. Meditative, melodic and groove-driven, it is a cornerstone of Smith’s 1970s catalogue and an essential listen for fans of spiritual and progressive jazz.
