Hot Mulligan – you’ll be fine returns to vinyl in a limited Indies-exclusive lavender coloured pressing. Following the band’s acclaimed 2018 album Pilot, this full-length captures the Michigan emo-rock group at their most immediate: restless guitars, huge melodic releases and lyrics designed to be shouted back from the middle of a crowded room. Hot Mulligan write songs for people who need the release of singing as loudly as possible. Across eleven tracks, Tades Sanville, Chris Freeman, Ryan Malicsi, Garrett “Sniff” Willig and Brandon Blakeley turn anxious thoughts, damaged routines and the complicated cost of pursuing a dream into energetic, communal music. The deliberately off-kilter titles are part of the record’s personality: “OG Bule Sky”, “*Equip Sunglasses*”, “Feal Like Crab” and “Green Squirrel In Pretty Bad Shape” sound playful on the page, but the songs carry real emotional weight.
