Herbie Hancock - The Prisoner

Recorded and originally released in 1969, The Prisoner closes Herbie Hancock's first chapter with Blue Note. Leading a nine-piece ensemble featuring Joe Henderson, Johnny Coles, Hubert Laws, Garnett Brown, Buster Williams and Albert 'Tootie' Heath, Hancock explores richly arranged jazz across five extended compositions, including 'I Have A Dream', the title track and 'Promise Of The Sun'.

This Tone Poet reissue presents the album on 180g audiophile vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging, mastered directly from the original analogue tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI.
