Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up the Girl returns on limited Blue Iris Vinyl, revisiting the album that transformed the Buffalo band's career. Originally released in 1998, the group's sixth studio album built on the melodic alternative-rock direction of A Boy Named Goo and pushed it toward a broader, radio-ready sound without completely losing the rougher edges of their earlier work.

The album is most closely associated with Iris, the breakthrough ballad that became one of the defining rock songs of the late 1990s. Written for the film City of Angels, the track went on to earn three Grammy nominations and became the band's signature song. Dizzy Up the Girl also includes major singles such as Slide, Black Balloon and Broadway, giving the record an unusually deep run of recognisable tracks.

Commercially, the album became the Goo Goo Dolls' biggest success, selling more than four million copies in the US and over five million worldwide. Its combination of polished guitars, direct choruses and reflective songwriting helped place the band at the centre of late-1990s mainstream alternative rock, while “Iris” continued to grow in stature long after the original release cycle and remains one of the era's most enduring songs.
