Flowers Must Die – Tystnad

Flowers Must Die return with Tystnad, an expansive new album recorded at the legendary Silence Studios in rural Värmland, close to the Norwegian border. The studio has long served as a countercultural retreat where artists can step away from everyday noise and concentrate on exploratory music-making, making it an ideal setting for a group that has carried the torch for Swedish psychedelia for nearly two decades.

Across Tystnad, Flowers Must Die connect the open-ended spirit of early 1970s psychedelia with a distinctly contemporary sense of texture and momentum. The music moves between incandescent jams, free improvisation and haunting melodic passages, allowing the band to stretch ideas without losing a strong emotional centre. The result is immersive rather than nostalgic: a record informed by psychedelic history but driven by the chemistry of musicians still searching for new routes through sound.

The album follows the creative afterglow of the band’s previous Rocket Recordings release Kompost and the touring that surrounded it.
