Hurts Like Hell is Charlotte Cornfield’s sixth album and her first recorded since the birth of her daughter—an inflection point that informs its themes of growth, renewal and love’s perseverance. Recorded at Philip Weinrobe’s Sugar Mountain studio in Brooklyn with a full backing band, the album is Cornfield’s most open-hearted and collaborative work to date, featuring contributions and vocals from artists including Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson and Maia Friedman.
