Brown Spirits #3 completes the trilogy of sought-after Brown Spirits reissues with another intense set of groove-led psychedelic experimentation.

Brown Spirits are a super-heavy psychedelic three-piece from Melbourne, Australia, creating raw, high-energy music influenced by Krautrock, free jazz, deep funk and 1970s psych rock.

Recorded and mixed to quarter-inch analogue tape with a strict DIY approach, their sound is dense, hypnotic and groove-heavy, connecting them to Australia’s wider underground scene while giving them a distinct identity of their own.

Reissued by Soul Jazz Records as part of a special campaign collecting three long-deleted early releases, these albums were originally issued in very small runs and have become increasingly difficult to find. Each edition is pressed on one-off coloured vinyl and is expected to be deleted on release.

Pressed on limited transparent orange vinyl, this release further cements Brown Spirits as one of the most exciting modern psych groups to emerge from Melbourne’s underground.
