Brown Spirits #2 continues the Melbourne trio’s deep exploration of psychedelic improvisation, driven by repetition, analogue warmth and muscular groove.

Brown Spirits are a super-heavy psychedelic three-piece from Melbourne, Australia, creating raw, high-energy music influenced by Krautrock, free jazz, deep funk and 1970s psych rock.

Recorded and mixed to quarter-inch analogue tape with a strict DIY approach, their sound is dense, hypnotic and groove-heavy, connecting them to Australia’s wider underground scene while giving them a distinct identity of their own.

Reissued by Soul Jazz Records as part of a special campaign collecting three long-deleted early releases, these albums were originally issued in very small runs and have become increasingly difficult to find. Each edition is pressed on one-off coloured vinyl and is expected to be deleted on release.

Pressed on limited transparent yellow vinyl, this edition is a must-have for fans of experimental psych, Soul Jazz Records and raw analogue recording culture.
