Boss Capone & George Dekker – Blackfire
Boss Capone & George Dekker - Blackfire pairs Dutch early-reggae musician Boss Capone with Jamaican singer George Dekker, best known as a member of The Pioneers and the half-brother of Desmond Dekker.
The album was written and produced by Boss Capone, with vocals shared between Dekker and Capone and guest appearances from Patsy. Backing tracks were recorded with musicians from The Upsessions and The Steadytones, giving the record a strong connection to classic rocksteady and early reggae while remaining a contemporary production.
Inspired in part by horse racing and Jamaican popular culture, Blackfire is especially suited to listeners who enjoy The Pioneers, Trojan and Pama-era reggae. This is the second pressing, issued after the original pressing sold out in its release year.
