Billy Bragg & Wilco - Mermaid Avenue Vol. II

Mermaid Avenue Vol. II continues Billy Bragg and Wilco’s celebrated project of setting previously unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics to new music. Drawn from the same creative sessions and archives as the first volume, the second instalment expands the collaboration into a more eclectic and exploratory set.

The record moves through political observations, surreal humour and intimate reflections, showing the breadth of Guthrie’s writing alongside Bragg and Wilco’s folk, Americana and alternative-country arrangements. Reissued here as a 2LP Concord edition, Vol. II forms an essential part of the complete Mermaid Avenue story.
