Billy Bragg - Talking With The Taxman About Poetry receives a long-overdue National Album Day 2026 vinyl reissue, returning Bragg's third album to classic black vinyl in a remastered gatefold edition with a bonus 7-inch single.

Originally released in 1986, Talking With The Taxman About Poetry became Billy Bragg's first UK Top 10 album and remains one of the key records in his catalogue. The album includes enduring songs such as “Greetings To The New Brunette”, “Levi Stubbs' Tears” and “There Is Power In A Union”, combining Bragg's direct songwriting with a broader musical palette than his earliest recordings.

The sessions feature notable contributions from Kirsty MacColl and Johnny Marr, adding further colour to an album that balances political observation, romantic detail and sharp character writing. Its mixture of singer-songwriter intimacy, folk influence and alternative guitar music helped establish Bragg as a distinctive voice in British music during the mid-1980s.
