That Certain Feeling captures organist Big John Patton deep in the groove on his seventh Blue Note album, originally recorded in March 1968 with Junior Cook on tenor saxophone, Jimmy Ponder on guitar and Clifford Jarvis on drums.

The session puts particular emphasis on Patton's own writing, moving from deep-pocket funk to modal vamps while retaining the hard-driving feel associated with his classic Blue Note work. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
