Arthur Verocai's self-titled 1972 album is widely regarded as a masterpiece of Brazilian music and one of the most distinctive records of its era.

Recorded at Studio Somil in Rio de Janeiro, the album was produced, arranged and directed by Verocai himself after work with artists including Jorge Ben, Ivan Lins and Célia. Across its compact running time, strings, guitars, piano, synthesizers, breakbeats, bass and percussion are woven together with effortless precision.

Bossa nova, samba, jazz, MPB, psychedelia and funk coexist throughout the record, giving it a sound that has since influenced generations of musicians and producers.
