Ancient Infinity Orchestra – It's Always About Liberation

Ancient Infinity Orchestra return with It’s Always About Liberation, a powerful new album on Gondwana Records that deepens the collective’s spiritual jazz vision while moving into darker, more searching emotional territory. Conceived as a partner to It’s Always About Love, the record draws inspiration from Moor Mother’s words “It’s always about love / It’s always about liberation”, transforming that idea into music rooted in struggle, perseverance, healing and collective freedom.

Led by double bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey, the 16-member ensemble brings together basses, harp, reeds, strings, flutes, piano, percussion and drums to create a sound that feels both intimate and cosmic. Across trance-like meditations, rising grooves and moments of deep reflection, It’s Always About Liberation connects the Leeds jazz scene with the spiritual lineage of Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Don Cherry and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.
