Andrei Nikolsky – Music For Terminals
Andrei Nikolsky - Music For Terminals is the sophomore album from the Palace Records founder, shaped by a love of classic soundtrack and library music while moving freely between jazz, electronics and off-centre dancefloor ideas.
The album ranges from outré electronic pieces such as Siren Call and Squeaks and Bleeps to modal jazz on Swiftly and Waltz for Someone, with wonky disco appearing on tracks including Line Stepper and The Shuffle. Library-music composer John Cameron appears on Swing Time, alongside contributions from members of The Kanpai Quartet and several guest drummers.
Limited to just 300 copies, Music For Terminals is a distinctive blend of cinematic composition, jazz groove and electronic experimentation, well suited to collectors of modern library music and leftfield instrumental records.
