Shawn Lee – Rides Again Again And Again

Shawn Lee - Rides Again Again And Again is the third instalment in the US-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist’s deeply personal Rides Again series. Lee describes the project as a return to familiar territory approached with a fresh, freewheeling spirit.

The influence of JJ Cale runs through the record and is acknowledged directly on JJ. Elsewhere, Lee turns recent touring experiences, family, travel and everyday observations into songs, including the moving Helluva Way, written for his late father. Members of Young Gun Silver Fox and friends also contribute to the communal feel of Plastic Forks And Paper Plates.

The album balances singer-songwriter storytelling, rootsy grooves and instrumental colour with Lee’s distinctive production touch. It is an easy fit for listeners who enjoy laid-back Americana, groove-based songwriting and the more personal side of Shawn Lee’s extensive catalogue.
