Billy Bragg & Wilco - Mermaid Avenue

Mermaid Avenue is the acclaimed first volume of Billy Bragg and Wilco’s collaboration setting previously unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics to newly written music. Bragg’s folk and political instincts meet Wilco’s emerging alt-country sound in a record that respects Guthrie’s legacy while creating something unmistakably new.

Featuring songs including “California Stars”, “Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key” and “Ingrid Bergman”, the album became the centrepiece of the wider Mermaid Avenue project, earning a GRAMMY nomination and lasting critical acclaim. This 2LP Concord edition returns the landmark folk-Americana collaboration to vinyl.
