Onward International - Foot In The Door brings back a cult early-1980s recording often described as a lost classic of the acid-jazz era. Originally recorded in 1983, the title track has become a foundational cut for listeners tracing the overlap between Brit-funk, jazz and the club culture that followed.

The horn-led opening of Foot In The Door is built to grab a dancefloor immediately. Samba Doo Bonnay shifts into Brazilian boogie territory with an Airto-style batucada feel, while 21st Floor Mambo rounds out the release with a strong mambo-jazz flavour.

Recorded in London by session musicians who would later appear on Working Week’s debut album, this 10-inch edition restores three distinctive tracks from a rare and influential period of UK jazz-funk history.
