Originally introduced in 2023, Wallsocket is a narrative record centred on the fictional town of Wallsocket, Michigan and the people who inhabit it. The project combined music with an elaborate alternate-reality campaign, using fictional local-business websites and hidden material to deepen the album's story beyond the record itself.

The Director's Cut develops that concept further, adding four additional pieces to the original album and bringing the expanded version to sixteen tracks. underscores moves freely through maximalist pop, electronic production, alternative rock and internet-age experimental music, building songs that can shift from intimate songwriting to overloaded digital textures in seconds. Guest appearances from gabby start, henhouse! and Jane Remover add further voices to the record's densely connected world.

Presented here as a 2LP vinyl edition through Mom+Pop, Wallsocket (Director's Cut) is the definitive physical version of this phase of underscores' catalogue. It is particularly suited to listeners drawn to hyperpop, experimental pop and ambitious narrative albums, but its combination of guitar music, electronic detail and character-driven songwriting reaches well beyond a single genre. For existing fans, the additional material completes the Wallsocket story; for new listeners, this expanded edition offers the fullest entry point into one of underscores' most distinctive projects.
